UPSC Civil Services 2016 cut off score for Prelims:UPSC cut off score differs every year as it based on the parameters like difficulty level of the entrance exam, number appeared candidates, number of vacancies etc. UPSC civil services preliminary is meant for screening only. The number of candidates to be admitted to the mains examination will be about 13 to 13 times the total approximate vacancies to be filed in the year through UPSC civil services preliminary examination. Only those candidates who are declared by the commission to have qualified the preliminary examination in the year will be eligible for admission to the main examinations.  

The commission will declare list of candidates to be qualified for UPSC civil services 2016 mains examination based on the criteria of minimum marks 33% in general studies paper II of civil services (preliminary) examination. The total qualifying marks of general study paper 1 of civil services (Preliminary examination) as may be determined by the commission.

UPSC Civil Services 2016 cut off score for Mains:Candidates who obtain minimum qualifying marks in the written part of the mains examination fixed by the commission at their discretion shall be summoned by them for an interview for personality test. The number of candidates summoned for interview will be about twice the number of vacancies to be filled. The interview will carry 275 marks (with no minimum qualifying marks). Marks obtained by candidates in the UPSC civil services 2016 mains examination (written part as well as interview) would determine final ranking of candidates. The allotment of various services and administrative post will be done strictly as per the ranks of candidates and preferences selected by them.
